Over 3M Metro Manila families get ECQ aid, PHP3.29B distributed

As of Tuesday, around 3.29 million families in Metro Manila have received their financial aid under the ECQ program, amounting to PHP3.29 billion, which is 29.31% of the total beneficiaries.

In Manila alone, 48.77 percent of target beneficiaries have already received their aid, totaling PHP710.75 million as of Tuesday afternoon.

Manila Department of Social Welfare Director Maria Asuncion Fugoso said that despite ECQ restrictions, the distribution is being carried out face-to-face but in an orderly manner with strict adherence to social distancing guidelines.

Each qualified resident in ECQ areas receives PHP1,000 per person up to a maximum of PHP4,000 per family, and beneficiaries are urged to bring barangay certificates and valid IDs to avoid delays.

The distribution started on August 11 as per the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 3 and will continue until all beneficiaries have received their aid.
