Makati distributes 52% of ECQ cash aid on first day

Makati City distributed 52 percent of its allocated cash aid funds to residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine on the first day.

Mayor Abigail Binay said 233,000 residents received P1,000 each through GCash, a digital financial service provider.

The city government partnered with GCash for contactless and convenient distribution via the Makatizen card program.

Residents who have not yet registered or updated their information caused the city’s website portal to crash.
