Zamboanga City distributes PHP5K to 1K families under SAP

As of Tuesday, April 14, a total of 1,064 families in Zamboanga City received PHP5,000 each under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to help mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The payout was conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) with measures taken to avoid crowding among beneficiaries.

In Barangay La Paz, the disbursement amounted to PHP5.3 million for 1,064 families, while in other barangays like Patalon and Vitali, orientations were held to prepare for house-to-house distribution of SAP cards and beneficiary assessments.

Initially on April 10, 438 beneficiaries from Barangay Lumbangan and Lumayang received PHP2.19 million, with each family receiving PHP5,000.

Beneficiaries included senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, distressed Overseas Filipino Workers, indigent Indigenous Peoples, underprivileged sector members, and homeless citizens.
