DSWD releases P65B for COVID-19 aid to poor families

As of Thursday, April 16, the government has released P65 billion for cash aid distribution to low-income households affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

This amount was downloaded to 1,228 local government units and reached four million poor families.

The DSWD has also spent P67.5 million on other COVID-19 related concerns such as medical and burial assistance requests.

By April 14, almost 4 million out of the 18 million target households had received aid, with over 3.7 million being Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries and around 112,000 non-4Ps low-income families receiving up to P8,000.

As of April 13, the DSWD has paid out P17 billion of the allocated P80 billion for social amelioration aid, benefiting 3.7 million 4Ps families and over 77,000 low-income households.
