PNP logs nearly 309K quarantine violators since March

Since mid-March, Joint Task Force Covid Shield has logged nearly 309,000 community quarantine violators.

As of August 10, 146,012 were warned, 77,190 fined, and 85,657 charged.

Violations include motorcycle pillion riding; from July 10 to 31, violators were only warned.

Since strict implementation on August 1, 16,927 violations have been recorded for motorcycle back riding rules.

Eleazar emphasized that the rise in COVID-19 cases correlates with an increase in health protocol violations.
