PNP active cases hit 1.7K; Sinas wants JTF Shield personnel vaccinated

As of Thursday, March 25, 70 more police officers have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total recoveries to 12,042.

The number of active cases among police personnel has risen to 1,750 with 171 new infections reported.

Most of the new cases are in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) with 38 cases, followed by other regions.

PNP deputy chief for administration Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar ordered commanders and unit heads to ensure strict compliance with health protocols to contain virus spread.

Eleazar also mentioned that surprise inspections will be conducted to verify adherence to the directive requiring all PNP personnel to wear both masks and shields indoors.

Gen. Debold Sinas, PNP chief, recommended vaccinating Joint Task Force (JTF) Covid Shield personnel who are enforcing movement restrictions in NCR Plus from March 22 to April 4.

Over 2,000 health personnel of the Philippine National Police have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as cases continue to surge.
