DOH: Metro Manila cities at high to critical COVID-19 risk

DOH reported on Wednesday that Metro Manila cities are at 'high to critical risk' due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Cities like Marikina, Mandaluyong, Caloocan, San Juan, Pasig, Muntinlupa, Pateros, Quezon City, and Parañaque saw over 200% increase in recent weeks compared to previous ones.

The DOH Epidemiology Bureau director stated that the current surge has surpassed the peak recorded in July and August last year with Metro Manila classified as 'high risk'.

OCTA Research reported on Sunday that over 4,000 of the 7,999 new cases nationwide were from NCR, with Quezon City recording the highest number at 870.
