Floods displace over 38K families, damage over 1K homes in Negros

Over 38,000 families in seven towns and cities in northern Negros Occidental were displaced by floods on January 8 and 9.

Silay City was the hardest hit with 16,886 affected families, followed by Victorias City with 12,567 families and Talisay City with nearly 4,000 families.

In addition to displacement, over 1,000 houses were damaged in four cities: Silay (729), Talisay (329), Cadiz (one totally damaged, five partially damaged), and Escalante (two totally damaged).
