FDA: 242 breakthrough infections in 13.8M fully vaccinated Filipinos

As of Thursday, September 9, only 242 out of 13.8 million fully vaccinated individuals in the Philippines have contracted COVID-19, representing a rate of 0.0017%.

FDA chief Eric Domingo reported that these breakthrough cases occurred more than two weeks after receiving the second dose.

Domingo emphasized during a press briefing that vaccines are effective and critical tools to control the pandemic, with mortality rates among fully vaccinated individuals decreasing over time.
