Odette death toll at least 177, damage exceeds P3.5B

Typhoon Odette has caused over P3.56 billion worth of damage to infrastructure and agriculture, displacing 554,316 people.

The death toll from the typhoon is at least 177 confirmed deaths with 38 missing and 275 injured as of Wednesday, December 22.

However, earlier reports on Monday by the Philippine National Police (PNP) indicated a higher death toll of 375 people killed, with 56 still missing.

The typhoon affected 3,473 barangays across various regions and left 1,382,252 individuals displaced, with around half seeking shelter in evacuation centers or with relatives.
