OCTA: Pangasinan COVID-19 cases spike, growth rate jumps to 92%

OCTA Research reported a spike in COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan with a one-week growth rate of 92%, increasing from an average of 36 new cases on September 6 to 69 on September 13.

The positivity rate also rose from 6.9% on September 10 to 10.9% on September 12.

Despite the spike, Pangasinan's reproduction number increased from 1.10 to 1.40 and average daily attack rate is low at 2.18 per 100,000 individuals.

Healthcare utilization and ICU occupancy remain low at 30% and 17%, respectively.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David noted that Pangasinan remains at low risk but the rise in cases must be monitored.
