OCTA: No lockdowns amid possible surge

OCTA Research on Tuesday does not recommend reimposing lockdowns despite projecting an increase in COVID-19 infections to 50,000 to 100,000 active cases soon.

Dr. Guido David noted that the rise in cases in South Africa and India is due to new Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5.

David emphasized that strict measures are not necessary at this time as they support the government's economic recovery efforts.
