OCTA: NCR COVID-19 cases exceed August peak, may hit 2K daily by Oct

OCTA Research reported that new COVID-19 cases in NCR on September 25 exceeded August's peak with 1,600 cases.

The one-week growth rate of coronavirus cases increased to 25%, nearly double the previous week's 13%. The seven-day positivity rate also rose to 18.5%.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David predicted that NCR will see at least 2,000 daily cases by early October due to a rising weekly positivity rate and an increasing ADAR of 7.83 per 100,000 population.

The reproduction number climbed to 1.26, indicating ongoing virus transmission, while healthcare utilization remained low at 38% with ICU utilization at 30%.
