Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya report first coronavirus cases

Isabela reported its first coronavirus case on March 26, with a 23-year-old patient admitted at the Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC) in Santiago City testing positive.

The patient is stable and recovering.

Governor Rodito Albano III urged residents to stay home and assured them that necessary measures are being prepared.

Meanwhile, Nueva Vizcaya reported its first case on March 26 as well – a 65-year-old resident of Solano town who died on March 19 was diagnosed with severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) and later tested positive for coronavirus.

Governor Carlos Padilla confirmed the patient had no travel history but attended a wake with visitors from Hong Kong, making him the fourth case in Cagayan Valley Region.
