PNP monitoring over 900 PUMs, 76 PUIs

As of Friday, March 27, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that over 900 personnel are under monitoring and more than 70 are considered persons under investigation for possible coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection.

Two police officers have tested positive for COVID-19; one is a 32-year-old officer from Metro Manila who has since been discharged, while the other is a 52-year-old officer from Laguna with mild symptoms.

The PNP Health Service closely monitors these individuals and recommends placing offices of confirmed cases under lockdown.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Guillermo Eleazar assured that there are enough reserve forces ready for deployment if current officers need to be quarantined due to the increasing number of PUIs and PUMs.
