NU Lady Bulldogs win UAAP title, Pagdulagan named Finals MVP

National University's Lady Bulldogs reclaimed the UAAP women's basketball championship by defeating the University of Santo Tomas with a score of 78-73 in Game 3 on Sunday.

Rookie Cielo Pagdulagan was named Finals MVP for her outstanding performance, scoring 21 points and nine rebounds along with three assists and three steals.

Pagdulagan averaged 15.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.67 assists, and 1.67 steals throughout the title series, playing a pivotal role in anchoring NU's revenge tour alongside veterans Camille Clarin, Angel Surada, and Karl Ann Pingol.

Clarin played a crucial defensive role by stifling UST's late-game rally and securing key free throws to maintain NU's lead.

Head coach Aris Dimaunahan praised Pagdulagan's leadership and dedication, noting her pivotal role in securing NU’s eighth title in nine seasons.

The Lady Bulldogs' victory marks the start of a new era for National University women's basketball, with aspirations to defend their title next season and ignite another dynasty.
