UST secures UAAP women's basketball title with 78-68 win over NU

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured a decisive Game 3 against National University for the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball title with a comprehensive 78-68 victory on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Brigette Santos led UST with a career-high 27 points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals, while rookie Karylle Sierba contributed a career-best 18 points off the bench in the fourth quarter alone.

UST maintained their lead despite National University's comeback attempts by limiting turnovers and improving communication on defense.

Santos emphasized that the team felt different heading into this game after losing Game 1, focusing on reducing mistakes to secure the win.

With this victory, UST snapped National University's 15-game unbeaten streak and advanced to a deciding Game 3 of the season series on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
