UST faces National U in UAAP women's finals Game 2

University of Santo Tomas (UST) will face undefeated National University in Game 2 of their UAAP Season 87 women's basketball Finals on Wednesday after losing Game 1 by a score of 72-71.

National University, which secured its victory with veteran forward Karl Pingol leading the way and rookie Cielo Pagdulangan scoring the go-ahead basket late in the game, is aiming to complete its redemption story and clinch their eighth title in nine seasons along with a perfect 16-0 season.

Despite UST's strong defensive effort and early lead of up to 14 points in the third quarter, National University mounted a comeback to tie it up entering the final period before taking the lead late in the game.

Coach Haydee Ong remains optimistic about Game 2, focusing on correcting defensive miscues and forcing more turnovers as UST aims to extend the series.

Game 2 will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Wednesday, December 11, with a game time set for 1:00 p.m.
