National University beats De La Salle 64-49 in UAAP women's basketball

National University secured a victory over De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament with a score of 64-49 on Sunday.

Veterans Camille Clarin and Tin Cayabyab led the Lady Bulldogs, scoring 16 points and 13 points respectively, along with six rebounds and three steals for Clarin, and four assists and four steals for Cayabyab.

Cielo Pagdulagan, a rookie player from the NUNS program, played a crucial role in the second half, contributing five key points during an 18-4 run to help National University break away from De La Salle.

Third-year coach Aris Dimaunahan expressed satisfaction with the win despite it not being their best performance, acknowledging the nerves and excitement among rookies like Pagdulagan who finished with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, along with four rebounds, a steal, and a block.

National University will face Far Eastern University next Saturday in pursuit of back-to-back wins.
