Dela Rosa's double-double leads Ateneo to narrow win over DLSU

Kacey Dela Rosa led Ateneo de Manila University to a narrow 65-62 victory over De La Salle University in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament on Sunday.

Dela Rosa recorded another double-double with 24 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks, while Junize Calago and Kai Oani each contributed 13 and 10 points respectively to help Ateneo secure a crucial win.

Despite a late-game surge led by Luisa San Juan of De La Salle who scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, including three critical triples, Ateneo managed to maintain its lead with clutch free throws from Calago and Oani.

Ateneo assistant coach Bacon Austria acknowledged that his team started slowly but adjusted late in the game to secure the win, praising San Juan for her strong performance.

The Blue Eagles will face Adamson Soaring Falcons next on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., while De La Salle aims for its first victory against UE Lady Warriors on Sunday.
