Sinovac delay won't affect vax program: NTF

The delay in Sinovac vaccine production may slightly affect its delivery to the Philippines this month.

Despite the two-week delay, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19, assured that it won't impact the country's vaccination program.

The initial 2.5 million doses out of the expected 6 million will be delivered by mid-July.

NTF advised local authorities to prioritize second doses for those who have already received their first Sinovac shot due to the delay in the next shipment.

Galvez said the delayed delivery consists of 2.5 million doses and urged LGUs to use available vaccines for second doses.
