MWSS orders water firms to suspend disconnections until May 14

The MWSS Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) has directed water concessionaires Maynilad and Manila Water to continue suspending all water disconnection activities until the end of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) on May 14.

This directive follows President Duterte's decision to extend the MECQ in Metro Manila and nearby provinces through mid-May due to rising COVID-19 cases.

MWSS RO emphasized that local government units should assist water concessionaires with meter reading and billing activities during this period.
