PNP corrects NCR Plus checkpoint operations

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is correcting inconsistencies in checkpoint operations within the 'NCR Plus' bubble.

PNP officer-in-charge Guillermo Eleazar stated that checkpoints will no longer check motorists for movement restrictions within the bubble, but will monitor curfew compliance and health protocols.

On Monday, a control point between Quezon City and Rizal caused traffic jams despite Eleazar's clarification that travel within the bubble is not restricted.

Eleazar emphasized during a press briefing that checkpoints are to ensure compliance with health protocols, not restrict movement within the bubble.
