Marikina sets up lab for early Covid-19 detection

The city government of Marikina has established a laboratory testing center for early detection of Covid-19 cases, partnering with Manila Health Tek, Inc., which will supply 3,000 test kits.

Mayor Marcelino Teodoro stated that the new lab aims to quickly test persons under monitoring and alleviate their concerns.

Despite five confirmed cases in Marikina, no city-wide quarantine is being enforced as all positive cases are isolated within a specific area of a subdivision.

The city anticipates an increase in cases over the next three to four weeks and plans to implement aggressive testing using the newly acquired test kits.
