NLEX wins 4th straight, leads PH Cup with 4-1 record

NLEX extended their winning streak to four games with a narrow 89-86 victory over Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Wednesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Robert Bolick's clutch performance and Xyrus Torres' crucial contributions helped NLEX maintain their lead despite Ginebra's late comeback attempt, with Bolick scoring 28 points and Torres hitting a go-ahead triple in the final minute.

Bolick emphasized that every player on the team has had opportunities to shine under coach Jong Uichico’s guidance, while Barangay Ginebra continues to search for consistency after falling to 2-2.

NLEX improved their record to 4-1 and now only trails Magnolia's unbeaten streak of five games in the Philippine Cup standings.

The adjusted schedule due to Meralco's participation in the Basketball Champions League Asia gives NLEX a bit of a break, with their next game against Terrafirma on May 14.
