New Health chief vows to get more bivalent COVID-19 vaccines

New Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa is working to secure additional supplies of bivalent COVID-19 vaccines.

Herbosa said the government is coordinating with international organizations like WHO, COVAX, and UNICEF to acquire more doses.

The Philippines recently received its first batch of 400,000 donated bivalent vaccine doses from Lithuania.

Despite efforts, Herbosa admitted there are 'technical difficulties' in obtaining more vaccines, noting the current supply is insufficient.

Herbosa also mentioned plans to increase benefits and salaries for healthcare workers to address brain drain.
