Neneng exits PAR but rains may persist in parts of Visayas, Mindanao

Typhoon Neneng (international name: Nesat) has exited the Philippine area of responsibility.

PAGASA reported that the typhoon's center left PAR at 8 p.m. Sunday and is now moving westward over the West Philippine Sea.

Although Neneng has moved away, its trough and circulation convergence with southwesterly winds may still bring occasional rains in parts of Visayas, MIMAROPA, northern, and western Mindanao.

All storm signals have been lifted, but gusts reaching strong breeze to near gale are expected in the western area of Luzon and Visayas, as well as eastern Central Luzon.

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc suspended classes on Oct. 17 due to potential lingering effects.
