Negros Oriental's active COVID-19 cases triple in four days

Negros Oriental's active COVID-19 cases more than tripled in just four days, increasing from 63 on January 10 to 196 by January 14.

The province was placed under Alert Level 3 starting Sunday, January 16, due to the surge driven by the Omicron variant.

Two new deaths were reported, both unvaccinated individuals.

Transmission of cases is very fast according to health officials who urged residents to practice minimum health protocols.
