PHP54.3M worth of shabu and marijuana seized in Negros Oriental since Jan

Anti-illegal drug operatives in Negros Oriental province have seized PHP54.3 million worth of suspected shabu and marijuana since January this year.

As of November 20, a total of 7.7 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of over PHP52.7 million were confiscated during 516 operations.

Police also seized more than 13 kilograms of marijuana worth almost PHP1.6 million during the same period.

A total of 537 drug personalities, including 67 high-value individuals and 442 street-level individuals, were arrested in these operations.

Lieutenant Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), noted that the focus has shifted from reducing demand and supply to prevention and rehabilitation.

More than 6,000 individuals who surrendered during the 'Tokhang' campaign have completed the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP).
