Marcos admin nets PHP51.14B worth of drugs, arrests 119K suspects

The Marcos administration's anti-drug campaign has netted PHP51.14 billion worth of narcotics and arrested 119,022 drug suspects from July 2022 to October 31, 2024.

During this period, authorities seized various drugs including 6,554.59 kilograms of shabu, 75.70 kg of cocaine, and 115,081 ecstasy tablets along with 5,772.68 kgs of marijuana.

The campaign has also led to the arrest of 7,567 high-value targets in over 87,000 operations nationwide, dismantling 1,217 drug dens and two clandestine laboratories.

Moreover, 29,211 barangays have been declared 'drug-cleared' while 6,292 remain 'drug-affected'.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced that law enforcement agencies would focus on the supply chain in a new strategy for the anti-drug campaign.
