Negros Occ provincial gov halts entry of LSIs from Cebu

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson halted the entry of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Cebu due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.

On June 24, Negros Occidental recorded its highest number of coronavirus cases with 21, all LSIs arriving from Cebu that month.

Lacson requested the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to expand the travel ban to cover the entire province of Cebu, not just Cebu City.

He also proposed that stranded individuals from Cebu undergo RT-PCR tests before traveling to Negros Occidental.
