Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 8,433

As of Sunday, June 28, the Department of Foreign Affairs reported that the number of Filipinos abroad with coronavirus cases increased to 8,433.

There was one new case and two additional deaths, raising the total death toll to 538.

The Middle East continues to have the highest number of cases (6,168) and deaths (278).

Active cases are concentrated in the Middle East (2,113), followed by Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific.

The Philippines leads in the rise of coronavirus cases in the Western Pacific region with 8,143 new cases from June 16 to June 27.

China and Singapore have higher testing capacities compared to the Philippines.
