While Zamboanga City reports an increase in new Covid-19 cases, it also sees a rise in recoveries. The city advises continued adherence to health protocols.

Zamboanga City, Philippines reported six new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on June 27, bringing the total number of positive cases to 202.

The newly identified cases are ZC197 (38-year-old female), ZC198 (24-year-old male), ZC199 (45-year-old female), ZC200 (17-year-old male), ZC201 (49-year-old female) and ZC202 (35-year-old male).

These six cases are linked to a previous case, ZC190 (68-year-old man from Barangay Talon-Talon), who was admitted at the Zamboanga City Medical Center for community-acquired pneumonia.

All new cases are asymptomatic and contact tracing is ongoing. Local health officials advise the public to continue following minimum health standards such as wearing masks, frequently washing hands, and practicing safe physical distancing.

The city also reported 22 more recoveries on June 26, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 172. There are five confirmed deaths and 19 active cases currently.
