Philippines: Low vaccine uptake outside Metro Manila

As of Tuesday, only 12% to 14% of eligible residents outside Metro Manila have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

In contrast, 43% of the target population in Metro Manila is fully vaccinated, seven percentage points short of reaching a bubble area for the fully inoculated.

Quezon City has vaccinated 90.57% of its target population with at least one dose and aims to achieve full vaccination by securing more vaccine supply.

The government expects to deliver 120 million doses until December, allowing it to sustain vaccination strategies in critical surge areas and high-risk provinces.

By the end of August, the NCR is expected to fully vaccinate 50% of its eligible population, with a total of 4.26 million residents already fully vaccinated.
