Almost a million evacuated due to Typhoon Rolly

Super Typhoon Rolly has led to nearly a million people being evacuated from areas expected to be hit by the storm.

Regional civil defense officials reported that evacuations are more challenging due to concerns over COVID-19 transmission.

As of Saturday, about 794,000 individuals were evacuated in Albay and almost 200,000 in Camarines Sur.

Schools, government-run evacuation centers, and gymnasiums are being used as emergency shelters for displaced residents.
