NCR's COVID-19 positivity rate dips below 5%, remains 'low risk'

The National Capital Region's (NCR) COVID-19 positivity rate dropped below 5% as of Tuesday, according to OCTA Research.

This is the first time since December 26 that NCR's positivity rate has been under 5%, marking a significant improvement from the Omicron surge.

Despite this positive trend, NCR remains classified at 'low risk' with an ADAR of 2.85 and a reproduction number of 2.85.

OCTA Research also noted on Saturday that while trends have improved, NCR's ADAR decreased to 3.36 from 5.49 in the previous week, positivity rate dropped to 6% from 9%, healthcare utilization rate fell to 26% from 29%, and reproduction number slightly declined to 0.20.

A reproduction number below 1 indicates slowing virus transmission.
