NCR placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15

The National Capital Region (NCR) will be placed under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 from March 1 to March 15, 2022.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III stated that NCR was ready for this deescalation due to its high vaccination rates and low positivity rate.

OCTA Research reported on Tuesday that the positivity rate in NCR had dropped to 4.9%, the lowest since December 26, 2021.

As of Friday, February 25, OCTA noted a reproduction number of 0.21, healthcare utilization rate at 25%, and ICU utilization rate at 27%, indicating low risk for COVID-19.
