NCR's COVID-19 case growth rate climbs to 72%

As of Tuesday, June 21, NCR's COVID-19 case growth rate increased to 72%, with a reproduction number of 2.05 and positivity rate at 4%. Hospital utilization remains low at 22%.

OCTA Research noted that the seven-day average of cases in NCR rose from 131 to 225 between June 14 and June 20, indicating a significant increase compared to previous weeks.

On Saturday, June 18, OCTA reported an even higher growth rate of 71% for NCR's COVID-19 cases, with the seven-day average increasing from 103 to 176 between June 11 and 17. The reproduction number was at 1.80 as of June 14.

Despite these increases, OCTA forecasts predict that hospital bed occupancy will remain manageable without an escalation in alert levels.
