DOH logs highest daily COVID-19 cases since April

The DOH recorded 425 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, the highest daily tally since April 3.

Despite this increase, the DOH maintains that the National Capital Region (NCR) remains at low risk for COVID-19.

While Metro Manila showed a positive two-week growth rate and has a reproduction number of 1.59, its average daily attack rate is still below six cases per 100,000 population.

The DOH noted that NCR would require an ADAR of at least 818 cases daily for two weeks to be classified as moderate risk.

Among the top regions with recent infections are NCR with 1,761 cases, Calabarzon with 518, Central Luzon with 277, Western Visayas with 266, and Central Visayas with 136.
