NCRPO seizes PHP267M worth of drugs, arrests 4K suspects, reduces crime by 17%, fines over 662K violators

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin reported that over PHP267 million worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized during his first 100 days in office.

Aberin also noted the arrest of 4,028 drug suspects and the filing of charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act following 2,729 anti-drug operations.

In addition to drug enforcement, the NCRPO apprehended more than 662,000 local ordinance violators from November 23, 2024 to March 2, 1025, generating PHP180.88 million in fines for local government units.

The police chief highlighted a significant decrease in crime rates by 17.04 percent in Metro Manila, attributing this to improved police visibility and community engagement, as well as the strict enforcement of local ordinances.

Aberin emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the rule of law and police operational procedures in all initiatives, aiming for continued improvement in peace and order.

As part of National Women's Month, the NCRPO launched several women-focused units including a Special Weapons and Tactics Team and Civil Disturbance Management Unit.

These efforts underscore the role of women in enhancing public safety and community engagement within law enforcement.
