NCRPO reports 14 new COVID-19 cases, total now 47

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported 14 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 among its ranks on May 8, bringing the total number to 47.

Four police commissioned officers and ten non-commissioned officers from the Quezon City Police District tested positive based on nasopharyngeal swab tests conducted on April 25.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas emphasized the importance of testing front-line personnel due to high risk of contamination, assuring public safety measures are in place.

Additionally, four individuals under police custody in Sta. Ana, Manila tested positive for COVID-19 after rapid and nasopharyngeal swab tests on April 27 and 29.

On May 6, NCRPO chief Sinas and 50 other officers underwent swab testing at the Marikina Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory to ensure safety of front-line personnel.
