NCR's COVID-19 reproduction number drops to 1.39

The reproduction number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has decreased to 1.39, according to OCTA Research on Thursday.

While this is below the critical level cutoff of 1.4, NCR's average daily cases for the week of August 26 to September 1 reached 4,637, a 490-increase from the previous week.

OCTA predicts that new cases will continue to increase at a slower rate until the reproduction number falls below 1 by the third week of September.

The positivity rate in NCR is currently at 24%, with hospital bed occupancy at 69% and ICU occupancy at 71%. Only Quezon City, Caloocan, and Marikina are at high incidence level; all other LGUs are at critical incidence level.
