Dominguez urges MGCQ for NCR, Calabarzon

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III is urging the government to place Metro Manila and Calabarzon under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) as soon as possible to boost economic recovery.

Dominguez emphasized that these regions account for about 60-70% of the country's annual output, stressing the need for people to start working again while maintaining health protocols.

He noted that the virus is likely to persist and called for targeted lockdowns in specific barangays or companies with high infection rates rather than broad restrictions.
