GMA urges shift to economic recovery

Former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo advised the government to shift its focus towards economic recovery during a House committee meeting on Thursday.

Arroyo suggested that after imposing one of the longest lockdowns in the world, the balance should now be tipped towards addressing economic concerns.

She cited more than 550,000 tests conducted as evidence that the country is ready to ease restrictions and focus on the economy.

Arroyo expressed confidence in President Duterte's ability to take swift action when necessary, noting his early measures against the pandemic such as banning flights from China.
