NAIA loses over P1B in revenue due to ECQ

NAIA has lost over P1 billion in revenue due to travel restrictions imposed under the enhanced community quarantine as of end-April.

MIAA General Manager Eddie V. Monreal noted that NAIA typically handled around 768 flights per day before lockdowns, but now sees only about two or three passenger flights daily.

Monreal expressed hope for a return to normal operations but acknowledged it is wishful thinking given current restrictions.

In the 'new normal', airport personnel will be required to use face masks and proper hygiene will be strictly enforced.
