Moderate to heavy rains, lightning, strong winds hit Metro Manila, Luzon

Parts of Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon experienced moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds on Thursday morning and afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a thunderstorm advisory at 10:20 a.m. and another one at 12:37 p.m. on June 26.

The affected areas in Metro Manila include Mandaluyong, San Juan, Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, and Pasay, while the provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, parts of Quezon, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, and Batangas were also warned.

PAGASA advised that these weather conditions may persist for up to two hours and could affect nearby regions.

Residents in these areas are urged to take precautionary measures against potential flash floods and landslides.
