Green Bones wins Best Picture at MMFF 2024, marks GMA's second consecutive win

"Green Bones," a drama film produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, won the Best Picture award at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival on Friday.

The film also received several other awards including Best Actor for Dennis Trillo, Best Supporting Actor for Ruru Madrid, and Best Screenplay shared between Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza.

GMA Network Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes thanked the MMFF organizers and jurors during her acceptance speech, sharing the award with all nine competing films.

Executive Vice President Nessa Valdellon called the win 'historic' for GMA Pictures, marking their second consecutive Best Picture victory following last year's "Firefly.", which was also directed by Zig Madamba Dulay.

Additional awards won by "Green Bones" include Best Child Performer for Sienna Stevens and Best Cinematography for Neil Daza.

During the ceremony, Ruru Madrid expressed his gratitude for winning Best Supporting Actor and shared emotional moments with other award recipients.
