Ruru Madrid wins Best Supporting Actor for 'Green Bones'

Ruru Madrid won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as jail guard Xavier Gonzaga in 'Green Bones' at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal on Friday, December 27.

Madrid expressed gratitude and humility during his acceptance speech, acknowledging past challenges and underdog status throughout his career.

He thanked co-star Dennis Trillo and mentioned the emotional impact of receiving such a significant award after facing criticism in the past.

'Green Bones' is produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, based on an original story by JC Rubio with screenplay written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza.

Earlier in the night, 'Green Bones' also won Best Screenplay for Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza and Best Child Performer for Sienna Stevens.

Dennis Trillo, who played the role of notorious prisoner Domingo Zamora, was awarded the Best Actor prize at the same event.
