MMDA issues show cause over Go's altercation with police captain

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued a show cause order to its ranking officials involved in road clearing operations following an incident where Special Operations Group-Strike Force head Gabriel Go berated a police captain for illegal parking.

Chairperson Don Artes acknowledged the controversy and emphasized that if Go committed a mistake, he will be penalized according to due process; no case had been filed against him when he was rehired in November 2023.

The incident has drawn criticism from Senator JV Ejercito, who questioned MMDA's decision to rehire Go, calling his actions overbearing and disrespectful.

Artes apologized to the police captain's family and reminded all employees of their duty as public servants to treat everyone with respect and courtesy.

The MMDA has reached out to top officials of the Philippine National Police, Napolcom, and Quezon City Police District to maintain coordination and mutual respect between organizations.
