DOH sets conditions for mild COVID-19 home quarantine

The Department of Health (DOH) reiterated on Saturday the conditions for allowing asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 patients to undergo home quarantine.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that only patients who are truly asymptomatic and mild will be allowed home quarantine, while severe and critical cases remain hospitalized.

Vergeire also mentioned that mild or asymptomatic patients might be in temporary treatment facilities managed by local government units or mega-facilities in Metro Manila.

On Friday, Vergeire clarified that mild COVID-19 patients already admitted to hospitals will not be forced to transfer to isolation facilities run by the government.

She emphasized that hospitals should follow protocols for new admissions but existing patients can stay until they are asymptomatic or have completed 14 days of quarantine.
